AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the
transfer of lobster permits
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Paragraph a of subdivision 3 of section 13-0329 of the
environmental conservation law, as amended by chapter 522 of the laws of
1985, is amended to read as follows:
a. Lobster permits shall be [non transferable] NONTRANSFERABLE and
shall expire on December 31 of the year of issue, EXCEPT THAT LOBSTER
PERMITS SHALL BE TRANSFERABLE BETWEEN PERSONS WHO EACH POSSESS A FOOD
FISH LICENSE. If it appears in the public interest, the department may
suspend or cancel any such permit on ten days' written notice to the
holder thereof.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
