LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Pine Bush High School Odyssey
of the Mind Team upon the occasion of earning first place in their divi-
sion at the 2010 Odyssey of the Mind World Finals
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who have inspired and brought pride to our
majestic Empire State by achieving outstanding success in educational
competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Pine Bush High School Odyssey of the Mind Team upon the occa-
sion earning first place in their division at the 2010 Odyssey of the
Mind World Finals; and
WHEREAS, More than 800 teams from around the world competed on May
26-29, 2010, in the World Finals at Michigan State University in East
Lansing, Michigan; and
WHEREAS, Odyssey of the Mind is a problem-solving competition that
emphasizes creativity and teamwork; teams of five to seven students are
challenged to come up with solutions, usually in skit form, to long-term
problems and also to spontaneous problems that they get for the first
time at the events; and
WHEREAS, The Pine Bush High School Odyssey of the Mind Team took first
place with their moon expedition camper in the Nature Trail'R problem;
and
WHEREAS, The Pine Bush High School Odyssey of the Mind Team members
are: Joe Landolina, Dan Stack, Meghan Walter, Nic Vesely, James Orr,
Dylan DiGasso, Martin Perez, and team coach Bobbi Walter; and
WHEREAS, The Pine Bush High School Odyssey of the Mind Team first won
regionals and placed second in the New York State contest; they tweaked
their design and defeated 34 teams to win their division; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, these
scholars now stand honorably, with just pride in their accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by their teachers,
coaches and parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Pine Bush High School Odyssey of the Mind Team upon the
occasion of earning first place in their division at the 2010 Odyssey of
the Mind World Finals, and offer them best wishes for a future of
purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Pine Bush High School Odyssey of the Mind Team.
