Senator Ortt Sponsors Free Citizen Preparedness Event

WHEATFIELD – State Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I – North Tonawanda) partnered with the American Red Cross tonight to present a free disaster preparedness class at the Wheatfield Community Center.
More than 20 residents from across the Senator’s district came to the one-hour event for a comprehensive overview on how to prepare for natural, man-made and technological disasters, including snowstorms, fires, floods, power outages and terrorism incidents.
The Citizen Preparedness Corps Training session dubbed Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to do When Disaster Strikes, provided participants with information and starter first aid kits to be able to prepare for emergencies and disasters, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible.
