State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) today delivered hundreds of Valentine’s Day cards to local seniors in six Onondaga County nursing homes. This project, started by Senator Ryan, was a collaborative effort among many local schools and libraries who all pitched in to create the cards and contribute to the cause.

“Everyone deserves to feel appreciated and remembered on Valentine’s Day, especially our senior citizens,” said Senator Ryan. “Being able to bring them joy on this holiday is incredibly rewarding. I’m grateful to all of the schools and libraries who helped turn this idea into a heartfelt show of appreciation for our senior citizens.”

The schools and libraries who contributed include:

• Pine Grove Elementary School
• Fremont Elementary School
• Wellwood Middle School
• Minoa Free Library
• Liverpool Public Library
• Fayetteville Free Library
• Northern Onondaga Public Library- Brewerton Branch

With all of the contributions, Senator Ryan delivered over 350 cards to seniors at Brookdale Fayetteville Memory Care, New Sunnyside Adult Home, Manlius Adult Home, Elderwood at Liverpool, Menorah Park of CNY, and Loretto Buckley Landing nursing homes.
