Senator Webb Announces Her 4th Annual Menstrual Product Drive in Partnership with Local Organizations

(Southern Tier, NY) – Senator Lea Webb encourages the community to participate in her 4th Annual Menstrual Product Drive, which aims to address the need for menstrual products in Broome, Cortland, and Tompkins Counties. As Chair of the Women's Issues Committee in the New York State Senate, Senator Webb is leading this initiative in collaboration with local organizations, including: C-STEP, Downtown Ithaca Alliance, SUNY Cortland C4, and Binghamton Metro Doulas.

“As Chair of the Senate Women’s Issues Committee, I believe access to menstrual products is a basic necessity, not a luxury,” said Senator Lea Webb. “For far too many women and girls, the cost of period supplies creates significant barriers to attending school, working, and fully participating in their daily lives. This drive reflects our continued commitment to dignity, health, and equity for individuals across the Southern Tier. I’m proud to partner with local organizations who are on the ground every day supporting our neighbors, and I’m grateful to our community for coming together once again to meet this need with compassion and care.”

“Access to menstrual products is a matter of health and dignity,” said Karina Martinez, Binghamton Metro Doulas, LLC. “This drive is a simple but powerful way for our community to support one another and ensure no one goes without basic essentials.”

“Period poverty is a widespread but often overlooked issue that affects many individuals,” said Dr. Sharon Brant. “In response, Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences students, faculty, and staff are donating menstrual products to support the community's annual Period Products Drive.”

“The Downtown Ithaca Alliance facilitates the Menstrual Equity Center to guarantee equitable access to menstrual products — affirming that dignity and access to basic needs are not optional, but essential,” said Corrie Root, Chief Operating Officer at the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.

Menstrual products, including pads, tampons, wipes, and more, can be dropped off through March 27th, 2026. All donations collected will be distributed to community organizations in Senate District 52.
