Operating grant will help organization with Teen Institute paid internship programs, coaching and mentoring

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senator Patricia Fahy announced on Saturday that a $20,000 operating funds grant secured through her office was awarded to Mission Accomplished Transition Services in Albany. Mission Accomplished Transition Services, an organization that prepares young professionals and entrepreneurs for the workforce through coaching, mentoring, and sponsorship since 2012. Through cultivating the existing skills, knowledge, and experiences of the young people they serve, Mission Accomplished Transition Services trains teenage rising professionals on how to think critically, take initiative, and shape a vision for their future.

The Teen Institutes, programs for 16 to 18-year-olds, are designed for those exploring careers in construction and design or fashion and beauty with a focus on elevating the voices of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPoC) and individuals with low-moderate income. Experience in the industry of choice through either a Capital Region of NY based Career and Technical Education program or self-teaching is required. The Chief Coach & Founder, Coach Carmen, assists those who complete the program with finding summer employment after the completion of their internships.

Mission Accomplished Transition Services is always in search of subject matter experts to lend their knowledge to the team as well as general volunteers to assist with events, fundraisers, photography, and videography. Members of the public may inquire with them about volunteer opportunities through their website, and view internship opportunities here.

“Mission Accomplished Transition Services and Coach Carmen are investing in the young people of the Capital Region and their success,” said Senator Patricia Fahy (D—Albany). “The skills built during this internship program carry these students to the next step in their careers and foster a work ethic that can only come through mentorship and hands-on experience. Focusing on the potential of students here in our community and supporting our young people will provide a return every time, and I am thrilled my office was able to secure funding for the Teen Internship Programs provided by Mission Accomplished Transition Services. I encourage all those who are able to consider volunteering with Coach Carmen to help teens participating learn, grow their skills, and reach their full potential.”
