Senator Serrano Attends Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Ceremony
May 21, 2024
May is recognized as Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and on May 21st Senator Serrano joined colleagues and honorees from across New York State at the AAPI Heritage Month Ceremony in Albany. This was a wonderful opportunity for both the New York State Assembly and the New York State Senate to honor individuals for their outstanding achievements in our communities.
At this event, Senator Serrano was happy to be with Assembly Members Alex Bores and Rebecca Seawright as they honored Sahar Husain. Husain is the founder of Muslim Volunteers for New York, serves on Community Board 8 in Manhattan, and is a steward of Ruppert Park in the Yorkville neighborhood of Senate District 29.
