Scarcella-Spanton will advocate for safety upgrades to the boardwalk as part of a project that was originally initiated in February 2021. The press conference willtake place at the Riegelmann Boardwalk and West 5th Street. Joining Scarcella-Spanton at the 1 p.m. rally will be Community Board 13; Brighton Beach BID leadership; residents and community members.

 

The project's design phase has been completed and it is currently in the procurement phase, according to the NC Parks Department website.
