Taxpayers are struggling and in economic times like this, people use their income tax returns to pay rent, their heating bills, or put food on the table. I certainly oppose any effort by this Governor which would further burden those already finding it difficult to make ends meet. This attempt is wrong-headed and fiscally reckless, which is why I am working with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to reverse this proposal and enact a prudent state budget which controls spending, provides relief to taxpayers, and protects vital services keeping families afloat.
