On July 26, 2011 New York State Senator John J. Bonacic attended the groundbreaking of a $40 million expansion project at Empire Casino Raceway in Yonkers, New York.  Senator Bonacic, second from left, said that "The job creation created by this investment is welcome both in New York State and the horse racing and entertainment industry.  I look forward to continuing to see our harness track properties grow with private sector development opportunity."
