SENATOR BONACIC MET WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF OASAS AND LOCAL OFFICIALS AT THE RENAISSANCE FACILITY IN WAWARSING

On Wednesday, December 21st, 2011 Senator Bonacic met with representatives of New York State Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), Renaissance Project, Inc. and local officials at the Renaissance facility in Wawarsing to discuss the new safety measures that have been implemented by Administrators as a result of the Richard Giga stabbing incident on October 6th, 2010. In attendance were representatives from OASAS and Renaissance, as well as local officials, Leonard Distel, Town of Wawarsing Supervisor, Jack Hayes, Ulster County Legislator, Terry Bernardo, Ulster County Legislator, Scott Carlsen, Town of Wawarsing Supervisor-Elect, Craig Lopez, Ulster County Legislator-Elect and John Tobin, Chief ADA of the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
