Senator Stewart-Cousins presented a proclamation to the 2012 Irvington High School Varsity Girls basketball team, honoring their many accomplishments over the past season. For the third year in a row, the team was crowned New York State Class B Champion, and this year, they went on to win the Class B Federation Title.

In addition, head Coach Gina Maher was named the New York State Class B Coach of the Year, and Senior Forward Marley Giddins was named MVP of the Federation Championship game.

“This is a terrific accomplishment that these young women will remember for the rest of their lives,” said Senator Stewart-Cousins. “With the help of Coach Maher, the Bulldogs have achieved something truly remarkable for themselves and for the Irvington community.”
