Senator Stewart-Cousins Volunteering at the JCY Summer Reading Buddies Program

The Senator, a former teacher and longtime proponent of education, joined a local Yonkers third grader to read "The Talking Egg," although the young student did most of the reading. The JCY Summer Reading Buddies program pairs volunteers with children to work on their assigned summer reading projects. The program also offers life skills workshops for parents of participating students.
