This month I wrote a letter to Commissioner Steven Banks to request clarification on the rules and regulations surrounding eligibility for the Human Resource Administration’s (HRA) Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Several constituents have expressed concern that they may be ineligible for HEAP because their apartments are heated electrically rather than with gas. It is important to clarify HEAP eligibility requirements to address these concerns and I will relay Commissioner Banks’ response as soon as I receive it. Please see my letter below.
