Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 Grant to help the Town of Rockland Purchase a New Plow Truck
March 4, 2016
(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $50,000 grant to help the Town of Rockland purchase a plow truck for its Highway Department. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program, which was part of the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 State Budget. The Highway Department anticipates that the truck will be capable of handling the most severe winter storms, and also be utilized during summer months to contribute to summer paving and maintenance operations. They expect the truck to have useful life expectancy of 15 years.
“This grant will have positive impacts on the Town and will save the Rockland taxpayers money,” said Senator Bonacic.
“I would like to thank Senator Bonacic for his continued support in helping our town in securing funding for the purchase of this vital equipment,” said Town of Rockland Supervisor Robert Eggleton.
