(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $75,000 grant for the Town of Deerpark for resurfacing of a portion of Franke Road in the Town of Deerpark. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program, funding for which was included in the 2015-2016 State Budget. Specifically, the grant will be used to help resurface a 3 mile stretch of Franke Road that is in serious need of work.
“I’m pleased to have secured this grant for the Town of Deerpark,” said Senator Bonacic. “A project like this serves multiple purposes. Not only will it save the taxpayers’ money, but will also ensure motorist safety.”
“I would like to thank Senator Bonacic for helping us secure this $75,000 grant,” said Town of Deerpark Supervisor Gary Spears. “The safety of our residents is paramount, and this grant will help ensure that Deerpark residents have safe roads to travel on, while also relieving financial burdens on the taxpayers.”
