(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has secured a $75,000 grant for the Village of Warwick to help with the purchase of vacant land that was recently owned by Country Chevy. The lot is close to the Business District, and would create an economic impact on adjoining commercial properties and the Business District. The grant was made available through the State Municipal Grant Program.
“This is an exciting project that will have both an immediate and long term impact on the Village of Warwick,” said Senator Bonacic. “Not only will it save the taxpayers’ money, but it will continue to spur economic development in an already vibrant community.”
“It is reassuring that Senator Bonacic continues his advocacy towards the people he serves. The State and Municipal Facilities Capital Program Grant will help the Village purchase land for municipal parking which will maintain the growth and vibrancy of our Business District. This type of investment will have a lasting positive effect on our community and its plans for future economic development,” said Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard.
