Senator Bonacic Helps Promote Health and Awareness by Attending Kidney Screening in Albany
March 16, 2016
(Albany, NY)-In an ongoing effort to promote kidney health, and awareness, Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) attended a kidney health screening this morning in Albany. The event is sponsored by the Northeast Kidney Foundation, and involves blood pressure analysis, a urine test, blood sugar analysis, and a one-on-one consultation with a physician. Chronic kidney disease affects 26 million people nationwide, with 59% of our population at risk. Anyone with diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of kidney disease is at risk and should get their kidneys tested. Screenings like this one allow individuals to be proactive in getting tested, and seek any further medical treatment they might need.
