Senator Bonacic Announces $75,000 Grant for the Town of Delhi
April 17, 2017
(Albany, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that the Town of Delhi has been awarded a $75,000 grant to help with the purchase of a tandem dump/plow truck for its Highway Department. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2016-2017 State Budget.
Currently, the Town’s 1999 Volvo dump truck/plow truck is unreliable and the repair bills have become too expensive. This grant will allow the Town to purchase a reliable piece of equipment that can be used year round.
“This grant funding will ensure that the Town of Delhi Highway Department can continue to effectively serve the local residents,” said Senator Bonacic. “I’m pleased to have worked with the Town to secure this funding that will provide this piece of equipment, and also save the taxpayers money.”
Said Town of Delhi Supervisor Mark Tuthill, "I want to thank Senator Bonacic for his continued advocacy on behalf of the taxpayers in the Town of Delhi. This $75,000 grant will help the Town replace an important piece of equipment, and improve the operations at our Highway Department."
