Senator Bonacic Secures $25,000 Grant for the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office

(Middletown, NY)-State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has successfully secured a $25,000 grant for the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office. The funding was made available through the Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. The money for Byrne JAG was appropriated in the 2017-2018 State Budget (Chapter 53 of the Laws of 2017), and the $25,000 for the Sullivan County DA was allocated in a resolution at the end of the legislative session.
“District Attorneys are on the frontlines, fighting crime in our communities every day,” said Senator Bonacic. “DA Farrell and his staff in Sullivan County have been proactive in the fight against crime and I’m confident they will put this money to good use.”
Sullivan County District Attorney James Farrell sad, “I’d like to thank Senator Bonacic for his continued support of the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office and our dedicated prosecutors and support staff. This grant will help in our continued efforts to make this County one of the safest in New York State.”
The grant money will be utilized to purchase equipment to enhance investigations by local police departments, and the District Attorney’s Office.
