September 4, 2018
(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that the City of Port Jervis has been awarded a $100,000 grant for the completion of downtown sidewalks on the western side of Front Street and for paving on Elks-Brox Road. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2018-2019 State Budget.
“The City of Port Jervis continues to experience a downtown revitalization, and this grant will allow the City to continue the progress that it has made,” said Senator Bonacic. “The completion of the sidewalks and the road paving will make the City safer for pedestrians and motorists and save local taxpayers money.”
City of Port Jervis Mayor Kelly Decker added, "The paving of Elks-Brox Park Road is a much needed infrastructure project that will benefit visitors and residents of the City of Port Jervis. Having safe roads in which to travel will spur continued economic growth within our City. I thank Senator Bonacic for his support of the City of Port Jervis and its residents."
