May 8, 2018
(Albany, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that the Town of Denning has received a $50,000 grant for the purchase of an emergency generator for the Highway Department. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2017-2018 State Budget.
“I’m pleased to work with the Town of Denning to secure this grant for the Town Highway Department,” said Senator Bonacic. “With severe weather events becoming more common and emergency situations that need attention, it is imperative that the Highway Department has all the tools it needs to serve the public. In addition, this grant will save the taxpayers money.”
Said Town of Denning Supervisor David Brooks, “With recent storms wreaking havoc on municipalities across the Catskills, it is critical that our Highway Department always be in a position to respond to emergencies. Having this emergency generator will help ensure that our Highway Department is able to respond to all types of emergency situations, and I thank Senator Bonacic for his help in securing this grant."
