Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 Grant for the Town of Liberty

(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that the Town of Liberty has been awarded a $50,000 grant to update and winterize bathroom facilities at Walnut Mountain Park. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2017-2018 State Budget.
“I’m pleased to work with the Town of Liberty to provide this grant that will make necessary improvements at Walnut Mountain Park,” said Senator Bonacic. “In addition, this grant will save the Town of Liberty taxpayers money.”
Brian Rourke, Supervisor of the Ton of Liberty said, “Walnut Mountain Park provides our residents with a plethora of recreational activities as well as breathtaking views of the Catskills. I thank Senator Bonacic for his help in securing this grant, which will help ensure that residents and visitors can continue to enjoy this park for years to come.”
