(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that the Town of Tuxedo has been awarded a $50,000 grant for the renovation of community space at Town Hall. The grant was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2017-2018 State Budget.
The project includes the upgrade of the Town Hall to accommodate community groups who currently use the facility as a community center. The work will consist of upgrading the bathrooms, paint, storage, flooring, finishes and seating areas.
“I’m pleased to work with Supervisor Rost to provide this grant that will benefit the residents of the Town of Tuxedo,” said Senator Bonacic. “Not only will this grant provide the community with an updated space for meetings, it will save them money in the long run.”
Town of Tuxedo Supervisor Michael Rost said, The Town of Tuxedo is excited to be able to renovate the Town Hall Community Room, which serves both our senior citizens as well as our volunteer organizations for meetings, gatherings and recreation events. We are looking forward to a new kitchenette, a safer fire exit and handicap ramp as well as proper storage for regularly used items.”
