Every year, the New York State Senate celebrates veterans across New York with a Veterans Hall of Fame induction. Senator Serrano had the privilege of honoring our 2024 Veterans Hall of Fame inductee, Mr. Julio A. Feliu, at a ceremony at Hostos Community College. Mr. Feliu, a resident of East Harlem, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He served during the Korean War and was a member of the 65th Infantry Regiment, known as the “Borinqueneers.” His outstanding service earned him multiple medals and honors, including a Congressional Gold Medal.
