BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- The Chenango Forks School District hosted New York State Sentors Lea Webb and Shelley Mayer to discuss education issues among students.
Webb and Mayer spoke with students about cell phones in school, the importance of adequate funding for school activities, art/music programs and school spirit.
“Obviously, I know they’re going to take that feedback back with them,” Chenango Forks junior Aaron Oshrin said to 12 News. “But I think it’s helpful that they are going to keep that in mind when they’re doing all their stuff in Albany.”
Members also spoke with the senators regarding the need for more mental health support for students as well as student meals.
The visit showcases the school district’s commitment to involving students in important conversations.
