"I am very encouraged that my 340B Drug Anti-Discrimination Act (S.1913) passed the Senate Finance Committee today. This is a welcome step following its inclusion in the Senate’s One House Budget.
I am working diligently to ensure that we protect providers that are facing substantial losses in savings while pharmaceutical companies and pharmacy benefit managers continue to regulate the program themselves.
This bill becoming a law will help us establish enforcement mechanisms, including civil monetary penalties, for violations upholding these protections for healthcare providers in communities throughout the state. This will go a long way to maintain the continued viability of the 340B program."
