“Today’s decision does not change that Mayor Bloomberg’s grubby power grab overrules the will of the voters as expressed twice through legal and binding referenda.
The will of the people should be accorded respect and deference. I will introduce legislation in the Senate that requires changes to term limits previously imposed through referenda be made through subsequent referenda, and I expect that legislation to pass.”
