STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Catholic schools on Staten Island will be closed Tuesday, a day after a blizzard blanketed the borough with more than two feet of snow.

Borough President Vito Fossella, State Sen. Andrew Lanza, State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, Assemblymember Michael Reilly, Assemblymember Michael Tannousis, and the Island’s delegation to the City Council — Councilmember Kamillah Hanks, Councilmember David Carr, and Councilmember Frank Morano — criticized Mamdani for announcing public schools’ reopening.
