A Staten Island humanitarian leader earns statewide recognition for transforming young lives

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton has named Elissa Montanti the New York State Senate District 23 Women’s History Month honoree.
Montanti was recognized for her work bringing medical treatment to hundreds of children from war zones and disaster areas around the world.
“Elissa Montanti has dedicated her life to helping others, starting the Global Medical Relief Fund to serve the world’s most vulnerable populations,” Scarcella-Spanton said. “Her work reminds us of the importance of empathy and helping those in need. I am proud to recognize Elissa during Women’s History Month, as she perfectly embodies what it means to shape a sustainable future.”
