Thousands celebrate Albanian culture at park on Staten Island’s South Shore (65 photos)
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The sounds of Albanian music echoed across Wolfe’s Pond Park Sunday as more than 8,000 people gathered for the 4th annual Albanian Picnic, turning the Prince’s Bay waterfront into one of Staten Island’s largest cultural celebrations.
Several of those elected officials were in attendance, including Borough President Vito Fossella, District Attorney Mike McMahon and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis. Also present were state Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and Assemblyman Michael Tannousis, as well as Councilmembers Kamillah Hanks, Frank Morano and David Carr.
