Bronx, NY – State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) will announce that two Bronx students have been awarded four-year, full tuition scholarships to SUNY Maritime College in Throggs Neck. Earlier this year, Klein offered scholarship nominations through the Cadet Assistance Program (CAP) to Michael Pirzinger of Throggs Neck and Lawrence Berger of City Island, both of whom are now enrolled in the College. The Cadet Appointment Program was created by the State Legislature to help attract qualified individuals interested in the Maritime Regiment of Cadets and the applicable license programs.
“There is nothing more important than ensuring that the doors of educational opportunity are open to students who work hard to excel and exceed,” said Klein. “SUNY Maritime offers students a first-rate education and I’m pleased to have nominated these superior students for the CAP Program,” Klein continued.
