State Capitol, Albany, New York, July 7, 2006 -- State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently presented Bert Pedersen, Chairman of the Mayor Donald E. Conroy scholarship fund, with a state grant at the Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon Village, to support the Mayor Donald E. Conroy Scholarship program. The scholarship is awarded to students from Babylon Village who have demonstrated excellent service within the community.

Senator Johnson told the students what a great honor it is to be chosen as a scholarship recipient. He then congratulated the students on this great accomplishment and wished them the best on all their future educational endeavors.
