Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden has announced that he will provide free income tax preparation services, for the 13th year, to senior citizens and residents of his district earning less than $30,000. Appointments will be available at his district office located at 7408-5th Avenue, from February 4th through April 15th, every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Senator Golden stated "Filing tax returns can be a complicated and arduous process. My office will assist local residents with their filings to ensure that everything is done properly. Tax season can be a stressful time, but the service we provide will hopefully make life a little easier for my constituents. I encourage those interested to call and schedule an appointment as this program continues to be very popular as appointments are limited.”
The volunteers who will be providing assistance are college students who have been studying income tax law. Services will be provided by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling Senator Golden’s district office at (718) 238-6044.
