Bronx, NY – Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz, Chairman of the New York State Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus and the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, is extending an invitation to a demonstration of solidarity against the racial abuse of Mexicans and immigrants in Staten Island.
The Ministers and Legislators will meet on the corner of Castleton Avenue and Simonson Place, in Staten Island, on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:30 a.m., where they will walk four blocks to the St. Phillips Baptist Church, located on 77 Bennett Street in Staten Island, to meet with Rev. Tony Baker, Sr.
At 12:00 p.m., the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization and Legislators will hold a press conference in front of St. Phillips Church, in Staten Island, to declare their outrage of the racial abuse against Mexicans and immigrants.
