New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation, will be sponsoring a breast cancer screening program on Thursday, February 17th from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm at the North Bellmore Library. The library is located at 1551 Newbridge Road in North Bellmore.

        Appointments are necessary and will be scheduled on first-come, first-served basis. On site nurses and technicians will provide a mammography, a clinical breast examination and instructions for self examination. Patients and their physicians will be notified of the exam results.

       NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation’s guidelines for the program are as follows:

         * The program is open to all Nassau County women ages 40 and over.

         * Women covered by insurance, Medicaid or Medicare will have their carrier billed and must bring their information card to the screening. NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation policy now requires patients to be responsible for any co-pays charged by their carrier.

         * Women ages 40 and older without health insurance will not incur any out-of-pocket costs.
