Senator Jack M. Martins was given a very high honor by the Long Island Alzheimers Association by being asked to present the Advocate of the Year Award at the State Capitol. Senator Martins presented the honor to Karen Henley of Nassau County. Henley is a resident of the 7th Senate District and was chosen by advocates for her steadfast support and advocacy for the Long Island Alzheimers Association. The Association has awarded nearly $160 million to researchers seeking new methods of prevention, better treatments, and eventually a cure for Alzheimers.

"It was a great honor to be asked by the association to participate in the awards ceremony. I want to thank Karen for all she has done locally in the 7th Senate District and I am very proud to have presented such a worthy individual this great honor," Senator Martins said.
