New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, Chair of the New York State Senate’s Higher Education Committee will chair a first of its kind Higher Education Budget Roundtable with members of the Senate’s Higher Education Committee and representatives of the City University of New York (CUNY).
Representatives from CUNY include: Allan H. Dobrin, executive vice chancellor and chief operating officer; Matthew Sapienza, associate vice chancellor for budget and finance and Kathy Abate, budget and finance.
This is the second roundtable LaValle has hosted to examine the Executive Budget and its impact on higher education. LaValle hosted SUNY representatives last week in a comprehensive budget examination session.
“My roundtable establishes a new, creative, open and transparent process to review the Executive Budget, line by line,” LaValle said.
The meeting will be held in the Albany offices of Senator Kenneth LaValle, Room 806, Legislative Office Building on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 12:30 pm. (The time may shift based upon the conclusion of Tuesday’s Senate session). The session will be webcast at: http://www.livestream.com/nysenate_highereducation.
LaValle and his committee will host roundtables for independent colleges on a date to be announced.
