October 17, 2011
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) gave the following statement regarding Friday’s agreement between The Port Authority between New York and New Jersey and Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to rebuild St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church:
“I applaud the Port Authority and Governor Cuomo for hearing the calls of the Greek Orthodox community in New York and throughout the world to rebuild St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. I was proud to join the fight over the last ten years with the Greek Orthodox community, working relentlessly to make sure that this house of worship came back to lower Manhattan, where it belongs as part of America's healing from the attacks of September 11, 2001.”
