Senator Owen H. Johnson congratulated Sheldon (Shelly) R. Sackstein, recipient of this year’s Business Leader’s Award given by the United Jewish Appeal Federation (UJA-Federation).  Mr. Sackstein accepted the award at the UJA-Federation of New York’s 2012 Suffolk County Inaugural Dinner which took place on October 26, 2011 at the Dix Hills Jewish Center.

The following individuals also received awards given by the UJA-Federation to thank them for their dedication and the example they set in the community:  Dr. Richard Hamburg received the Social Justice Award; Sheila & Gil Henoch received the Community Service Award; and Ronnit & Michael Kessler received the Community Leadership Award.

The event kicked off the UJA-Federation 2012 Annual Campaign. The community-based organizations supported by the UJA-Federation provide a multitude of services that improve and enhance people’s lives.
