Bronx, NY - State Senator Rubén Díaz (SD 32-Bronx) announced that Governor Cuomo signed three of his bills into law yesterday.
“I am very grateful to Governor Cuomo for signing these bills into law,” stated Senator Díaz. “As a result, four of my bills have now become law during this year’s legislative session,” he continued.
The bills signed on August 3, 2011 are:
S.1753/A.544, Chapter 263 which authorizes the State Office for the Aging to review programs addressing the needs of the aging veteran population;
S.5375/A.3882-A, Chapter 270 which allows the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program to receive and resolve complaints for residents of assisted living facilities; and
S.331-A/A.395-A, Chapter 320, which allows Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCS) to raise revenue outside their geographic boundaries.
Governor Cuomo previously signed S.1313-B/A.2264-B which establishes criminal sanctions for prostitution crimes committed within a school zone.
“Once again, I offer my thanks to Governor Cuomo for signing these bills which will improve and protect the lives of the most vulnerable among us, New York State’s children and older adults,” concluded Senator Díaz.
