A Disaster Recovery Center opened in Brooklyn for homeowners, renters and business owners who sustained damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy at Cyclone Stadium, 1904 Surf Avenue in Brooklyn. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week until further notice.

Specialists from the state of New York, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Administration (SBA) will be on hand to answer questions about available disaster assistance programs and the registration process. Individuals may register for assistance online atwww.disasterassistance.gov or via web-enabled phone or tablet at m.fema.gov.

They may also apply by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- and hearing-impaired. Users of 711-Relay or Video Relay Services (VRS) may call 1-800-621-3362. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. EDT, seven days a week until further notice.
