Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today has issued the following statement regarding parking signs in front of Goustaro’s located at 9226-4th Avenue which has sparked local community outrage over a loss of parking spaces:

“I have confirmed this morning with the Department of Transportation that by tomorrow, the No Standing parking signs in front of Goustaro’s will be removed. Since the store opened and the signs were put in place, my office has worked with the Department of Transportation to address the concerns of the residents and area customers, to have these signs removed.

We all know that parking is difficult on 4th Avenue, and I am glad that the metered parking between 92 and 93rd Street on 4th Avenue will be restored. This shall hopefully also prevent the issuance of tickets to motorists who have been unknowingly illegally parking there to go to the gym, to shop and to dine.

I plan on working with the Department of Transportation to find a more appropriate location to allow stores to get their deliveries. I thank the Transportation Department for their continued attention to address these concerns.”
