The USDA has responded to my office. Unfortunately the birds were destroyed the same day that they were collected. My office will now look into whether we can implement a better process to avoid what has happened here. Once again it is very frustrating to know that over the last several years we have provided the DEC with relocation options that would not have cost the taxpayers any money.
