Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Bellmore-Merrick EMS recently sponsored a free citizen CPR course. The course, which was held at the North Bellmore Library, taught residents what to do in a situation where someone needs CPR.
Certified CPR instructors from Bellmore-Merrick EMS taught residents how to perform life-saving, hands-only CPR techniques, how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and how to perform the Heimlich maneuver. Residents were also able to practice CPR chest compressions on a mannequin.
