State Senate Jack M. Martins attended a discussion held by Residents For a More Beautiful Port Washington concerning a project to expand the tracks on the Port Washington train station. Work proopsed at the Port Washington yard calls for an extension of the existing tracks on the Haven Avenue side as well as on the S. Bayles Avenue side.
According to the LIRR, the benefits include up to nine more trains between Port Washington and Manhattan. The discussion, hosted by Residents For a More Beautiful Port Washington, enabled community leaders and elected officials to voice concerns and discuss the potential impact of the project. The community stakeholders vowed to work together to make sure the best interests of Port Washington are protected.
