State Senator Marty Golden was among the local leaders, including District 20 Superintendent Karina Costantino, faculty members, parents and students of Intermediate School 201, who cheered for Madeleine Brennan, as school was dismissed earlier today, on her last day as Principal of the Dyker Heights Intermediate School.
Brennan is the longest serving Principal in the City of New York history, having served for 50 years as Principal of I.S. 201.
Brennan exited the building, escorted by Costantino and Golden, to Tina Turner’s classic “Simply the Best.” Before her exit, Brennan joined the staff in a hallway dance to her favorite song, the Village People’s Y.M.C.A.
