Monies to go towards the renovation and restoration of Town Hall cupola
Senator John Bonacic (R/C/I – Mt. Hope) announces that the Town of Goshen has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.
Monies will go towards the restoration of Goshen’s Town Hall which is a recognized historic landmark, and known as the place where Noah Webster once taught. The cupola on the building’s roof has experienced extensive deterioration, and the funding will go towards restoring the cupola’s historic value.
“This building was originally called the Farmer’s Hall Academy and is one of the area’s oldest buildings, dating back to the 1700’s,” said Supervisor Douglas Bloomfield. “Thank you, Senator Bonacic for being able to secure this grant for this project which means so much to all of us here in Goshen.”
“Goshen has such a rich history, and has these great old buildings that deserve to be preserved for today and for the future. I’m pleased to have been able to help the town preserve their Town Hall,” said Senator Bonacic.
