Monies to go toward improvements to driveway serving village buildings
Senator John Bonacic (R/C/I – Mt. Hope) announces that the Village of Florida has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.
The funding will go towards adding a layer of protective blacktop to the driveway that serves the Florida Fire Department, the library and Village Hall. This project would also create additional parking for residents and workers.
“This project would provide safer access to a variety of village buildings including the Fire Department, Police Station and Senior Center,” says Mayor James R. Pawliczek. “And it would also add additional parking spaces. We thank Senator Bonacic for helping us make this needed improvement in the Village, as he always does.”
“I am pleased to be able to secure these funds for the Village of Florida,” said Senator Bonacic, and added, “Our villages can only do so much with the monies they collect, and this allows them to make improvements without having to raise taxes on residents.”
