(Roosevelt Island, NY)- Senator José M. Serrano and Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr. co-sponsored an important Town Hall meeting at the Good Shepherd Community Center on Roosevelt Island.  Residents of Roosevelt Island packed the auditorium to ask the panel, which consisted of Senator Serrano, Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr. and Inspector Kevin Maloney of the 114th Precinct, a number of questions touching on a variety of topics. Issues of public safety, Stop and Frisk, trespassing and affordable housing were all brought up during the lively thought-provoking discussion.

"Events like this showcase how wonderfully diverse, inclusive and involved the Roosevelt Island community is. I would like to give a big thanks to DA Cy Vance, Jr. and his staff for helping us put this important event together, as well as Inspector Maloney for being a part of the panel. This was merely the opening remarks in the long conversation that is improving safety and all quality of life issues on Roosevelt Island," concluded Serrano.
